Quick Answer
If you want a future MLB star like Dansby Swanson, go with the 2015 set. For recent prospects like Daulton Varsho or Jake McCarthy, choose 2017 or 2018 respectively.
Why the Roster Year Matters
Each Hillsboro Hops team card set captures a specific season's roster. The 2015 set includes players who were early in their pro careers, while 2017 and 2018 sets feature later draft classes. The players listed on each set are the main draw, so knowing who is in each year helps you pick the set that matches your collecting focus.
Price and Value Differences
The 2015 set is priced at USD 6.50 (down from USD 10.00), making it the most affordable entry point. The 2017 set costs USD 7.20 (down from USD 12.00), and the 2018 set is USD 7.80 (down from USD 12.00). All three offer a discount from their catalog comparison prices, but the 2015 set gives you the biggest savings if budget is a concern.
